A fun and happy family shoot

When Jaclyn reached out to me to photograph her precious family, she asked specifically for me to focus on the close connection between her family. She told me she likes close-up photos, which is perfect because that's what I love to photograph! I love capturing the super close and sweet connection between mom & dad and the kids. I use a lot of different prompts to help get those authentic, candid moments that people love! Most of the time, little ones love to snuggle with their mom and dad so it's easy for me to get shots like that!

This shoot took place in mid-March, just as the earth began waking up from winter. It was windy and cold, but we really tried to work with the elements! I had them snuggle with their kids as much as possible to keep them warm and happy. Another key element I love to do for all photoshoots is to get everyone moving. Walking while holding hands, throwing kids in the air, telling kids to run to their mom & dad, stomping and making animal noises to bring in some fun for toddlers who are starting to get antsy...these are all things I have mastered after doing 200+ family shoots!

Jaclyn NAILED the outfit choices for her family! I always tell clients to pick clothing that is neutral and/or earth toned. I truly can't stress enough how important clothing choices are for your photoshoot! The light and airy vibe I have is 40% the locations I choose and 60% the outfits! Light, neutral colors are the way to go! Jaclyn, I loved photographing your beautiful family!
