Baby P

Photographing Leah and her beautiful family of 5 was such an honor. Not only is she practically my neighbor, she also has a beautifully curated home and the ideal, perfect setting for a newborn session! Baby P is her third born and was just a angel baby. She was so content to be in the arms of her mom and dad and the adoration of her siblings was such an amazing experience for me to capture.

Leah's home is filled with natural light! When I do in-home sessions, I always look for the rooms with the best natural light. My style is very light, bright and airy and I always want to try to achieve that in every session I do! Natural light is key!

My favorite thing to do is to have families sit as close together as possible and snap away while they interact with each other, the new baby and their surroundings. I think this session demonstrates perfectly how impactful those types are shots are in a newborn shoot!

Leah's home also featured a BEAUTIFUL balcony door that I just had to use as soon as I saw it! The walls were a matte black so the area had more of a moody vibe. These photos are a little unexpected from me because they are more of a dark & moody style but I really love them!! It's refreshing to change things up every now and again!

Baby P's "solo" pictures were taken in one of the kid's bedrooms of the house. Again- always looking for the best, soft & natural light! As a lifestyle photographer, I don't pose babies. I will gently manipulate them if I need to (like gently moving hands away from faces or repositioning the head). I find that babies are PERFECT the way they are and quite honestly, they already know how to pose! I have a few tricks I use to get those natural, newborn stretches and poses.
