Studio Newborn Session: Philadelphia Newborn Photographer
This light, calm and airy studio newborn session was such a breath of fresh air! Baby girl Maria is the first child for Victoria & Dean. Photographing first babies is always the sweetest experience because ALL focus is on that beautiful baby! Baby Maria did amazing for her newborn session, too! Victoria & Dean are amazing first time parents and so attentive and sweet to their daughter. It was a beautiful thing to witness!
I was so impressed with how quickly Victoria was able to pull together outfits for her session! We booked her session not long before the session date and she totally nailed the outfits! For newborn sessions, I am a big fan of dresses and light & neutral colors! Dresses are so comfortable and flattering, especially for the post partum period! I love how it gives images a flowy, ethereal look. For men, I love a good light blue or white shirt paired with camel or khaki pants.
My studio is a bright & airy staged room designed specifically for newborns in mind! My photos all have a consistent bright & airy, editorial look to them and I am able to achieve that with light colored walls, textiles and diffused light. I keep thing looking simple and natural, I don't go crazy with complex posing. I want things to flow naturally, peacefully and ALWAYS at the pace of the baby! Is the baby hungry? Let's stop the session to rest and feed. Baby is fussy? Let's turn on some white noise (that I have all set up!), swaddle them and soothe. Everything is baby-led during my newborn sessions!
