A Black Tie Formal Family Session in Philly: Elfreth's Alley

This was my first time EVER shooting in Philly!! I can't believe I have lived in the Philadelphia suburbs for almost 4 years and I have only been to the city a handful of times. Elfreth's Alley reminds me so much of Acorn street in Boston!

I met up with the S family in historic Elfreth's alley at the beginning of this month. This beautiful family happened to have a formal black tie wedding right after the photoshoot so we planned the shoot accordingly! It was right at sunset, which is my FAVORITE time of day to shoot! You just can't beat golden hour light. It was also so much fun to capture a family with older children. Most of the families I photograph have babies and toddlers which I love! But having the opportunity to photograph older/adult children was amazing. It was such a great experience! I could tell right off the bat that this family is incredibly close and amazing friends. Isn't that the goal?! To have adult children one day that actually want to hang out with you and joke around with you? It is certainly my long term goal as I raise my little ones!
