Harrison's in-home newborn session: Philadelphia, PA

This is my third time photographing this lovely family! Courtney & Warren welcomed their second son this past month and I had the absolute pleasure of photographing him in their beautiful home! While most of my newborn sessions happen in my home studio, I do occasionally travel to homes for in-home sessions if my schedule allows!

In-home sessions are always a challenge because more often than not, I have never been in the space before. I always ask in-home clients beforehand what the natural lighting situation is in their homes because I need a lot of natural light for my style of photography. I knew that this home would be a perfect fit for an in-home session because I had been to their house previously for an at-home milestone session.

There was a large glass window that flooded one of the back rooms with light and I was so pumped about it! But, too much light will blow out images and over expose them, so I am extremely strategic about subject placement! I wanted them to be mostly front-lit because if I tried to backlight with the large window, the images would be hazy and overexposed with too much direct light. It all sounds very scientific, doesn't it?

Their home is also impeccably decorated and I LOVED all of the artwork that Courtney has featured around her home! She has an incredible eye for interior design, I was taking notes from her for our next house!

I can't wait to share this in-home session!
